Carlo Ancelotti, the current manager of Real Madrid, has expressed his respect for Xabi Alonso, who is seen as a potential successor to him as head coach.
Ancelotti said at a press conference before the match against Mallorca:

I’m very fond of him. I don't have any advice for him because he has all the tools to be a great coach in the future.
Alonso has been the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen since October 2022. Under his guidance, the club won the Bundesliga title for the first time in the 2023/24 season. Additionally, the team also claimed the national Cup and Super Cup.
On May 12, the Brazilian Football Confederation officially announced the signing of a contract with Ancelotti.
