Cristiano Ronaldo, the forward for Saudi Arabia's Pro League club Al-Nassr and the Portuguese national team, answered a question from Marca about whether he considers himself the greatest footballer in history.
As a reminder, Ronaldo, who will turn 40 on February 5, is a three-time winner of the Ballon d'Or (2008, 2016, 2017), a five-time UEFA Champions League champion (2007/2008, 2013/2014, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018), and the winner of the UEFA Nations League in 2018/2019.
I am the best player in history. I have never seen anyone better than me... I have a good header, I can take free kicks well, I am fast, I am physically strong and I can jump high.
On February 3, during the AFC Champions League match against Al Wasl from the UAE (4-0), Ronaldo scored his 922nd career goal by converting a penalty. Earlier, on January 31, the star Portuguese forward became the first player in history to achieve 700 club-level victories.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr runs until the end of June 2025 but could be extended for another season. Transfermarkt estimates the Portuguese forward at 12 million euros.
