FIFA Announces Two Extra Water Breaks for Every Match at 2026 World Cup

To maintain optimal hydration levels, players will have the opportunity to take two additional breaks during each match of the 2026 World Cup.

This information was provided by the tournament's chief officer, Manolo Zubiria, in an interview with the official FIFA website.

It is specified that the duration of each of these breaks will be three minutes, and their introduction will not be conditioned by factors such as weather, geography, or match timing.

The 2026 World Cup, which will take place next year, will be jointly hosted by three nations: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament opening is scheduled for June 11 next year. The final match will take place on July 19.
