Former Cameroon and PSG midfielder M'Bami dies at 40

Modeste M'Bami, 2000 Olympic champion with the Cameroon national team and former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, died at the age of 40, according to the press service of the Paris team.

It is noted that M'Bami died on January 7 after a heart attack.

He earned a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and was also silver medalist of the 2003 Confederations Cup with Cameroon. In total, he played 38 games for the national team and scored three goals.

He played for PSG from 2003 to 2006. M'Bami also played for the French Sedan, Marseille and Le Havre, the Spanish Almeria and other teams. He won the French Cup twice with the Parisian club.
