The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) will review the performance of the match referee Jesus Gil Manzano for the fourth-round La Liga game between Real Sociedad and Real Madrid (1-2) within a week, Marca reports.
The referee’s decision to send off Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen in the 32nd minute will be recognized as incorrect. The CTA will also temporarily suspend VAR referee Jorge Figueroa Vazquez, who failed to call Gil Manzano to the monitor and give him the opportunity to reverse the wrong decision.
After the fourth round, Real Sociedad sit 17th in the La Liga table with two points. Real Madrid top the Spanish championship with 12 points.
