Initially, Israel’s suspension was expected to be voted on by UEFA’s executive committee on September 23, but this issue has now been removed from the agenda.
Support for the Israel Football Association came from diplomats, football organization leaders, and unnamed officials. American authorities also influenced UEFA’s decision, urging them to maintain the current status.
