American midfielder Timothy Weah of Juventus shared his thoughts on the Italian club's visit to the White House with President Donald Trump.
They told us that we have to go and I had no choice but to go. So I showed up. I guess it was a cool experience, obviously, being in the White House. I’m not one for the politics, so it wasn’t that exciting. When [Trump] started talking about all the politics with Iran and everything, it’s kind of like, I just want to play football, man.
The meeting between the U.S. president and the Juventus delegation took place on June 18, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino was also present.
During the visit, reporters asked Donald Trump questions about the conflict between Iran and Israel, while the Juventus players stood silently behind him.
It’s worth noting that Juventus won their opening match of the group stage at the 2025 Club World Cup in the U.S., defeating Al Ain from the UAE 5-0.
The Club World Cup is being held from June 15 to July 13, 2025, in the U.S., featuring 32 teams from all six continents.
