Neymar, the former PSG player now performing for Al-Hilal, shared how his relationship with Kylian Mbappe changed after Lionel Messi joined the team.
He noted that initially, Mbappe did not bother him, but after Messi’s arrival, Mbappe became slightly jealous. This shifted the atmosphere within the team.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes the Brazilian forward on social media as saying:
Neymar
Mbappe wasn’t annoying. We had our moments, but he was fundamental for the team. After Messi arrived, he became a bit jealous. He didn’t want to share me with anyone, and that led to some changes in behaviour. It’s good to have egos, but you don’t play alone. Big egos were everywhere.
The Brazilian played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2017 to 2023. He appeared in 173 matches for the team, scoring 118 goals and providing 76 assists.
Previously, Neymar admitted that his best football years were spent at PSG. He also expressed a desire to play again with his Parisian teammates—Messi and Luis Suarez.
