Barcelona midfielder Pedri addressed rumors regarding a potential boycott of the Spain national team due to the situation with Dani Olmo's registration with the Catalan club.
Earlier reports suggested that Barcelona players were prepared to boycott the national team call-ups because of the Olmo situation.
People said the Spain national team players wouldn't go [to play] but I heard that and was surprised by that, it's a lie. I wouldn't say no to the national team, I love playing for the national team. It's a lie, I hope nobody believed it.
26-year-old Olmo and 23-year-old forward Víctor Paul were temporarily registered for participation in matches for the second half of the 2024/2025 La Liga season on January 8, despite a refusal from the tournament’s management and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The registration is considered temporary while the Catalans’ appeal is being processed in court.
Therefore, both players will be able to participate in the Super Cup final, which will be held on January 12 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
