The legendary Brazilian footballer Pelé is not responding to the chemotherapy he is undergoing, Folha de Sao Paulo reports.

According to the source, the 82-year-old Brazilian is receiving palliative care. It is aimed at alleviating pain and is indicated for "all patients with a progressive and life-threatening illness or condition."

Earlier it became known that Pelé had generalized body edema, as well as decompensated heart failure and confusion. This is the third hospitalization for the football legend in 2022.

Pelé is a three-time world champion with Brazil (1958, 1962 and 1970).
