The royal family of Qatar opposes the sale of beer in stadiums during the World Cup.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has a major contract with one of the beer producers, which was also in effect during the previous World Cup in Russia. During the 2018 World Cup games, there was no ban on drinking beer in stadiums.

If the royal family of Qatar will be able to stand their ground, the only place for fans to buy beer freely would be the fan zone in Doha. The FIFA World Cup in Qatar starts on November 20.
