Real Madrid and Barcelona are showing interest in 26-year-old Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano and may enter the race to sign him, according to Foot Mercato.
The current contract of the French player with the German club expires at the end of this season, but negotiations for an extension have reached a deadlock. A long-term agreement was previously considered, but the terms proposed by Bayern did not satisfy the player.
Besides the Spanish giants, Manchester United and Liverpool have also expressed interest in Upamecano.
Upamecano joined Bayern in the summer of 2021 from RB Leipzig for 60 million euros. This season, he has played 14 matches across all competitions and recorded one assist. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at 50 million euros.
