Referee Coote Charged for Insulting Klopp in England

The Football Association of England has charged suspended referee David Coote for making offensive remarks towards former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp. This was reported by BBC.

The association condemned Coote's unacceptable behavior and use of derogatory language. The situation relates to a video recorded around July 2020, with the severity of the case aggravated by the referee mentioning the German coach's nationality in his insults.

In the video, David Coote used profanity regarding Liverpool and made belittling comments about Jürgen Klopp. The referee later claimed that the German coach showed arrogance and allegedly accused him of lying after one of their matches.

It's worth noting that UEFA suspended the 42-year-old official in February 2025 until the summer of 2026.

Additionally, it has come to light that David Coote is currently working as a courier for a delivery service.
