
Bayer Leverkusen's head coach, Xabi Alonso, has signed a contract with Real Madrid that will run until 2028. This was reported by insider Fabrizio Romano on his social media.
According to the source, the Spanish manager will be with the Madrid team during the Club World Cup, which will take place in the USA from June 15 to July 13.
Currently, Carlo Ancelotti is the head coach of Real Madrid, and his contract with the club runs until 2026. This season, los Blancos lost to Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey and to Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. After 35 matches in La Liga, Real Madrid are in second place in the standings with 75 points.
On Friday, May 9, Bayer announced that Xabi Alonso would leave his position as head coach at the end of the season.
