FIFA’s official website has published the schedule for the upcoming 2025 Intercontinental Cup, to be held from September 14 to December 17.
Six clubs will participate: Paris Saint‑Germain from France, winners of the UEFA Champions League; Saudi Arabia’s Al‑Ahli, winners of the AFC Champions League; CONCACAF Champions Cup winner Cruz Azul from Mexico; Egyptian side Pyramids, winners of the CAF Champions League; New Zealand’s Auckland City, champions of the OFC Champions League. The sixth participant will be the 2025 Copa Libertadores winner, which will only be determined in November.
According to the published schedule, Luis Enrique’s Paris side will take part in the Intercontinental Cup final on December 17.
On September 14 in the first round, Pyramids will host Auckland City in Cairo. The winner of that tie will face Al-Ahly. The other quarterfinal pairing will be Cruz Azul versus the Copa Libertadores champion. Second‑round matches are scheduled for December 10. On December 13 the two winners will meet, and the final is scheduled on December 17.
FIFA announced the creation of this new annual tournament – featuring the champion clubs from each confederation — on December 17, 2023. The current title holder is Real Madrid, who on December 18, 2024, defeated Pachuca 3–0 in the final of last year’s edition in Lusail, Qatar.
