Serbian President Vučić: I'm extremely saddened by the news of Siniša Mihajlović's death

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić reacted to the death of the famous Serbian ex-footballer and former coach of Italian AC Milan, Siniša Mihajlović.

I am extremely saddened by the news of Siniša Mihajlović's death, a legend of our and European football and a patriot who loved Serbia with all his soul. I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Siniša Mihajlović. Rest in peace.

Mihajlović died on December 16, 2022, at the age of 53. Earlier, it became known that the specialist was hospitalized because of a deteriorating leukemia. The former coach had been ill since 2019. Mihajlović's condition worsened ten days ago.

In his career, the player played for Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter. The footballer was twice champion of Italy, as well as three times winner of the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. As a head coach, Mihajlović has coached Bologna, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan, Torino and Sporting.
