As reported by sports journalist and insider Patrik Berger on his social media page, head coach of Serie A club Inter Simone Inzaghi continues negotiations with Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal.
According to the source, the 49-year-old ex-striker is seen as the main candidate to replace Portuguese Jorge Jesus, who left the club at the beginning of May. On May 25, Calciomercato reported that Al-Hilal intend to offer the Italian 30 million euros per season. Inzaghi temporarily took a pause in negotiations, which is associated with the performance of the Nerazzurri in the UEFA Champions League final, which will be played on May 31.
Inzaghi Jr. took charge of the Milan club in June 2021, moving from Lazio Rome. Under his leadership, Inter scored 81 points in 38 rounds in the 2024/2025 season and finished second in the Serie A table, behind only Napoli (82). Under Inzaghi, Inter took the Scudetto in the season-2023/2024, as well as twice won the Cup (2021/2022, 2022/2023) and three times - the Italian Super Cup (2021, 2022, 2023).
