Barcelona and Manchester United have agreed on a loan deal for forward Marcus Rashford until the end of the season, according to Sport.es. To finalize the deal, Barcelona need to offload space in their wage bill.
Rashford is willing to wait for the move to the Catalan club until the transfer window closes and is not considering other options.
During the loan period, Barcelona will cover the remaining portion of Rashford's salary this season, which amounts to 9 million euros.
At the same time, the club has received an offer from Girona to buy defender Eric Garcia for 7 million euros, plus an additional 3 million euros in bonuses. This deal could help the club free up 6 million euros in their wage bill.
Rashford, a product of Manchester United's academy, has been playing for their first team since January 2016. During his time at the club, he has made 426 appearances, scored 138 goals, and provided 63 assists. The English winger's current contract runs until the summer of 2028, and his transfer value is estimated at 55 million euros by Transfermarkt.
Earlier, the Catalan club announced that they had sold nearly 500 VIP seats at the Camp Nou stadium, which is currently being renovated.
