The Guardian: Tottenham Show Interest in Brentford and DR Congo Forward Wissa

British newspaper The Guardian reported that English Premier League (EPL) club Tottenham Hotspur intends to sign Brentford and DR Congo national football team striker Yoane Wissa.

According to the source, the Spurs have already entered negotiations regarding the possible transfer of the 28-year-old forward. The new head of Tottenham, Danish specialist Thomas Frank, the former coach of Brentford, is interested in acquiring a player who is familiar to him from his work with the London team.

Wissa has been playing for Brentford since August 2021, having moved from French side Lorient. In the season-2024/2025 Congolese played in 35 matches in the EPL, in which he scored 19 goals and gave four assists, as well as one game in the FA Cup. Wissa's contract with Brentford runs until the end of June 2026. Transfermarkt website estimates the market value of the striker at 32 million euros.

On June 7, The Sun reported that the Lillywhites intend to capture another player from Brentford, Cameroon striker Briana Mbeumo.
