The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is taking steps to reinstate Russian teams in international competitions, according to The Independent.
Sources from the publication claim that some high-ranking football officials are ready to welcome Russian teams back "as soon as tomorrow," claiming that Russia should not have been suspended.
It has been noted that Russia still wields considerable influence in football, and part of the pressure on UEFA is political.
