Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he does not consider the City side to be favorites to win the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League. The Spanish coach made the comment at a press conference before the game against Napoli.
Pep Guardiola, quoted by ESPN
Apparently we are not one of the favourites. Enjoy the moment, the journey, we are happy to be here. In the past we have been among the favourites. We have won just once. It is a lot for the difficulty, and we just focus on tomorrow, the game we have to play.
Guardiola has been City’s manager since 2016. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. The City won the Champions League in the 2022-23 season, beating Inter 1-0 in the final.
