Young Africans SC (Yanga) head coach Sead Ramovic says the team will put all their focus towards defending their two domestic trophies, after their elimination from the CAF Champions League.
Yanga exited the Champions League after last weekends 0-0 draw with MC Alger in their final group tie, which meant they finished third, and missed out on the quarter finals by a point.
The Tanzanian giants clinched both the Premier League title and the FA Cup last season, and Ramovic has told Telecomasia.net they will use the pain of the Continental exit as fodder to power their ambition for another domestic double.
Of course it was painful not to progress to the quarter finals because this was one of our clear objectives. But, we cannot dwell in the past. We now focus on what is ahead of us and that is defending both the Premier League and the FA Cup. That is our ambition now and I am confident that we have the squad to do it.
Yanga will this weekend turn their attention to the Cup, and they kick off their title defense against Copco FC in the capital Dar es Salaam.
In the league, they are currently placed second in the standings with 39 points, one behind leaders and arch rivals Simba SC.
