Italian athlete Carlotta Gilli wins Paralympic Gold in women's 200M medley SM13

Carlotta Gilli helped Italy to a gold medal in the women’s 200M medley SM13 event during the Tokyo Paralympics. USA’s Colleen Young bagged the silver medal while Uzbek athlete Shokhsanamkhon Toshpulatova ended up with a bronze in the competition.

Carlotta also set a world record for women’s 200m Medley SM13 as she completed the course in 2 minutes 21 seconds. Carlotta has claimed five medals during the Paralympics including two golds, two silvers, and a bronze. Meanwhile Shokhsanamkhon Toshpulatova won a bronze in the 200M medley for the second time in the Paralympics. The SM13 disability category refers to athletes with an array of impairments related to the visual functions.
