Right-hand batsman Khaya Zondo, who is a person of color, recently opened up about the suffering he went through after being left out of the South African ODI side in 2015. He alleged that Dean Elgar, a white South African was selected instead of him even when he was the designated back-up batter.

The revelation popped up during the Social Justice and Nation-Building(SJN) hearings where many people of color have opened up the discrimination faced by them in the South African cricket team. Many testimonies from selectors and administrators reveal discrimination in South Africa cricket is commonplace on the basis of skin color.
