The heavyweight bout between Brazilian fighter Jailton Almeida and Russian Shamil Abdurakhimov will take place on January 21 at the UFC 283 tournament at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Abdurakhimov, 41, is on a streak of three straight losses. He had his last fight in March 2022, at UFC Fight Night 204, losing to Sergei Pavlovich by TKO in the first round. Abdurakhimov has 20 wins and seven losses under his belt.
Almeida, 31, defeated Anton Turkalj by TKO in the first round at UFC 279 this September. He has 17 wins and two losses under his belt.
