Current UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall spoke about the potential fight against former division champion Francis Ngannou.
Tom Aspinall quoted by Sherdog
I like the fight. I think he is very, very dangerous. I think that I’m a smart fighter with a good IQ. And I think that I could navigate that danger well. But man, you never know, this is heavyweight MMA. At the top level you never know until you’re in there. So, from the outside looking in, I think I’ll do good. You never know though. It’s a fight that I’ll definitely be interested in.
Aspinall is set to step into the octagon against Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 321, which will be held on October 25 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
His last fight was against Curtis Blaydes in July 2024 at UFC 304, in which Tom won by knockout in the first round. He currently has a record of 15 wins and three losses.
Ngannou's last fight was against Renan Ferreira in October 2024 at a PFL event. In that fight, which was stopped in the first round, Francis secured a knockout victory. His record stands at 18 wins and three losses.
