Aslanbek Badaev, the vice president of ACA, in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net shared whether former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov could become the highest-paid fighter in the league.
Aslanbek Badaev exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
In theory – yes. However, we have big names like Albert Tumenov and Abdul-Aziz Abdulvakhabov. There are many other fighters earning good money. We need further details. But Vadim wants to go to the UFC, and we do not aim to make ACA a stepping stone. If he comes here, we want it to be for the long term. I’m not sure if Nemkov wants that.
He clarified that ACA is not prepared to pay the athlete one million dollars per fight.
Aslanbek Badaev
We are not ready to offer that kind of money. We understand how much fighters earn there, but we need to see that with what they can bring. Paying just because a fighter was a champion in Bellator or PFL is not an option. We have to consider what he brings here and now, in our country.
It’s worth noting that Nemkov last stepped into the cage in February 2024, where he defeated Bruno Cappelozza via submission in the second round at the PFL vs. Bellator tournament. He has a professional record of 17 wins and 2 losses, with one no contest. On January 25, he will compete against American Timothy Johnson in the PFL Road To Dubai: Champions Series tournament.
