Russian UFC fighter Rinat Fakhretdinov stated that, in his opinion, the American Colby Covington does not deserve to be ranked in the welterweight top 15.
Fakhretdinov said in an interview with Sports:
Who deserves to be removed from the rankings? Colby Covington. The rest are at least somewhat active, but he hasn't fought in a long time.
Covington last stepped into the octagon against Joaquin Buckley in December 2024 at UFC on ESPN 63. That fight, which was stopped in the third round, ended in a loss for Colby by technical knockout. He holds a record of 17 wins and five losses.
Fakhretdinov last fought Andreas Gustafsson in September of this year at UFC Fight Night 258. In that contest, Rinat won by technical knockout in the first round. He holds a record of 24 wins, one loss, and one draw.
