After facing difficulties with weight management ahead of UFC 315, scheduled for May 11 in Montreal, Brazil's José Aldo has decided to return to the featherweight division.
Aldo is set to fight Canadian Aiemann Zahabi. Initially, the bout was planned for the bantamweight category, but it has been moved to featherweight.

Jose Aldo tells me that his aim fighting at bantamweight was to become a two-division champion. He says that he walks around at roughly 160 pounds. He has come to realize that his home is at 145 pounds, and he expects to fight at featherweight going forward.
The former UFC champion last fought in the octagon in October 2024 at UFC 307, where he lost to Mario Bautista by split decision. Aldo has a record of 32 wins and nine losses.
Zahabi’s last fight took place in November 2024 at UFC Fight Night 246, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Pedro Munhoz. He holds a record of 12 wins and two losses.
