Former UFC champion Werdum breaks contract with PFL

Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum announced that he is no longer a PFL fighter as his contract with the league has expired.

Fabricio Werdum
My contract with the PFL has expired. I had one fight that ended up being 'no-contest' and because of certain problems I didn't fight for two years. I wasn't absent because of this unfair defeat, but because I've been doing this for 25 years. I needed this vacation and my contract is over now.

Werdum, 45, had his last fight against Renan Ferreira in May 2021 at the PFL 3 tournament, this bout between the two Brazilians that was ruled NC. In July of 2020, during UFC on ESPN 14, Fabricio defeated Alexander Gustafsson by first-round painful hold. Werdum has 24 wins and nine losses.
