Jones is Keeping the UFC Title Hostage: Atlas

Famous boxing coach Teddy Atlas believes Jon Jones is deliberately delaying his return to the octagon and is actually holding the UFC heavyweight title ‘hostage’.

Teddy Atlas
Jon Jones has been inactive in spots in his career. There's no doubt about it, and you could say, well, now you are keeping the title hostage. Yeah, I'll use a strong word, because that's where you're going. Deal with what comes with being a champion - you've got to give someone else a chance to get what you had a chance to get within a certain period.

Jones last stepped into the octagon against Stipe Miocic in November 2024 at UFC 309. That fight, which was stopped in the third round, ended in favour of Johns by technical knockout. Jon has 28 wins, one loss and one no-contest on his record.

Jones was also the UFC light heavyweight champion. He won the belt in March 2011 at UFC 128. Then the American fighter defeated Brazilian Mauricio Rua by technical knockout in the third round.
