Ortega vs. Sterling at UFC Shanghai Moved to Catchweight

The top featherweights Aljamain Sterling and Brian Ortega, scheduled to meet on August 23 in Shanghai, China, at UFC Fight Night 257, will fight at a catchweight.

Initially the bout was reported canceled after Ortega was hospitalized following a tough weight cut, but the promotion later decided to keep the fight on the card at a catchweight of 153 pounds (69.4 kg).

Aljamain Sterling last fought in December 2024 at UFC 310, losing to Movsar Evloev by unanimous decision. His record stands at 24 wins and five losses.

Brian Ortega last entered the octagon in September 2024 at UFC 306, losing to Diego Lopez by unanimous decision. His record is 16 wins, four losses, and one no contest.
