Pereira and Du Plessis Agree to Fight in Light Heavyweight Division

Plinio Cruz, the coach of UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, stated that the Brazilian fighter and middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis have agreed to compete in the light heavyweight division.

We’re walking down, Dricus had the belt and Alex said ‘oh I heard you are calling me out’. Dricus said ‘yes’ and then Alex said ‘make it happen at 205’. Dricus looked, thought a little bit and said ‘deal. So let’s see if he’ll run back on his words… Let’s see the super fight happen.

Let’s remember, on February 9 in Sydney, Australia, in the main event of UFC 312, Du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland by unanimous decision. Du Plessis has a record of 23 wins and two losses.

Alex Pereira will defend his title against Magomed Ankalaev on March 9 in Las Vegas, USA, at UFC 313. He has a record of 12 wins and two losses.
