Former UFC heavyweight champion, Cameroonian fighter Francis Ngannou shared a powerful message about faith, fighting and overcoming adversity, inspired by the words of Mike Tyson.
In April 2025, Ngannou hit a 17-year-old girl, Ntsama Brigitte Manuella, on a motorcycle in his home country of Cameroon. Bridgitte died at a local hospital due to doctors overdosing on anesthesia.
Life's difficult paths can sometimes be disturbing. As Mike Tyson once said, 'When you're favoured by God, you're also favoured by the devil, but remember that God is the one who brings you to the dance.' The harder you fight to stay up, the harder life fights to take you down.
Ngannou last fought against Renan Ferreira in October 2024 at the PFL tournament. Francis won that fight, which was stopped in the first round, by knockout.
Ngannou made his MMA debut in a bout against Rachid Benzina in November 2013 at the 100% Fight tournament. That fight, which was stopped in the first round, ended in Francis' favor with a submission. He has 18 wins and three losses in mixed martial arts.
