The Retirement Thing Comes in Waves: Poirier

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier opened up about how challenging it was for him to decide to end his professional career.

Dustin Poirier on KLFY.com radio
The retirement thing comes in waves. One day I’ll be fine with it doing yard work, the next day I’ll be like, I need to be in the gym. It’s kind of like I’m battling myself, but it is what it is.

Poirier's last fight was against Max Holloway in July this year at UFC 318 in New Orleans, USA. In that bout, Dustin lost by unanimous decision. After the fight, he announced his retirement. His mixed martial arts record stands at 30 wins, 10 losses, and one fight that was deemed a no contest.
