Volkanovski thinks Makhachev cheated to recover from weight fight before UFC 284

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski believes lightweight champion Islam Makhachev violated anti-doping rules before UFC 284.

Alex Volkanovski, quoted by MMA News
I’d say he was about 81kg [178lbs]. You fuel up pretty quick with IVs and stuff like that. Maybe that’s a little shot at him, but it is what it is.

Earlier, Australian-born UFC lightweight number eleven Dan Hooker also spoke harshly about Makhachev secretly hiring a nurse to administer banned saline drips for weight loss recovery.

Recall that Makhachev defeated Volkanovski by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 284, which took place on February 12 in Perth, Australia.
