Alexander Volkov, the third-ranked heavyweight fighter in the UFC and a Russian athlete recovering from an injury, announced that he is prepared to return to the octagon in December.
Volkov stated, as quoted by Match TV:
I think December would be the most comfortable time for me. I could take another month to recover, maybe just a few weeks, and then start full training. However, it will also depend on my opponent and the UFC.
It’s worth mentioning that on October 26, at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Volkov was scheduled to fight Ciryl Gane. According to Alexander, he is still uncertain if Gane will remain his opponent, as the promotion wishes to keep the French fighter on the card for the upcoming event.
Volkov last fought against Sergei Pavlovich in June 2024 at UFC on ABC 6. This bout went the full distance and ended in favor of Alexander by unanimous decision. He holds a record of 38 wins and 10 losses.
