The 35-year-old Spanish tennis player and the winner of 20 Grand Slams, Rafael Nadal, will not play at Wimbledon and will also miss on the opportunity to grab a third Olympic gold medal later on in Tokyo. The main reason behind this is the fact that he does not want to risk his health as he would like to prolong his career as much as possible.

Earlier this month, Nadal lost for the first time in his career in the semifinals and for the third time overall at Roland Garros to the eventual winner and one of his biggest rivals - Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard is likely to drop in the world rankings as Stefanos Tsitsipas is expected to surpass him in the near future.
