Rising hockey star Luke Prokop, a 19-year-old defenseman for the Nashville Predators, came out as gay on his Instagram page earlier today. Prokop is the first National Hockey League hockey player to openly identify as gay. Both the team and family supported the athlete. The National Hockey League released a statement on their Twitter page.
