14 volleyball players and up to 40 fighters under rubble after earthquake in Turkey

Dozens of athletes are trapped under the rubble following an earthquake in Turkey.

According to Fanatik, 14 players of the Hatay women's volleyball team are under the rubble due to collapses in Malatya province. The fate of the athletes is currently unknown.

The volleyball players of the Malatya Metropolitan Belediyespor men's team were also injured as a result of the natural disaster. It is noted that rescuers were able to find and evacuate three players.

In the city of Kahramanmaras, between 30 and 40 fighters are under the rubble. It is reported that the building of the fighting gym where the athletes were gathered was destroyed.

Earlier, it was reported that former Chelsea footballer Christian Atsu, who currently plays for Turkish club Hatayspor, was out of reach after the earthquake.
