American Grant Fisher broke the world record for the indoor 3000-meter event at a tournament held in New York under the auspices of World Athletics.
Fisher completed the distance in 7 minutes 22.91 seconds, shattering the previous record of 7:23.81 set by Ethiopian Lamecha Girma. Following Fisher, his compatriot Cole Hocker finished with a time of 7 minutes 23.14 seconds.
