PGL to host first Counter-Strike 2 Major in Denmark in 2024

Tournament organizer PGL has officially announced the first Counter-Strike 2 Major. The championship will take place in 2024 in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen.

The event will be hosted by The Royal Arena, which has hosted several tournaments from BLAST since 2017. The Major will take place from March 17th to 31st.

24 of the world's best teams will participate in the championship. The prize money has not changed since CS:GO - the teams will compete for $1.250 million.

The Danish tournament will be the first major tournament after the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, which will take place from May 8th to May 21st. According to Valve, there will be no second major in 2023.

Recall that the developers showed CS 2 on March 22. After that, the closed testing of the game began. The full release of the shooter is scheduled for the summer of 2023.
