Pakistan-Afghanistan series postponed amidst chaotic circumstances

After the reports of the Pakistan-Afghanistan ODI series to be held in Pakistan, now it has been declared that the series has been postponed. The decision comes amidst the turmoil in Afghanistan caused by Taliban’s takeover of the nation and then the coronavirus induced lockdown in Sri Lanka, however the former playing a bigger role than the latter.

The series would have occurred in September but it seems difficult for players to perform after taking such a mental baggage because of the events in Afghanistan. After appointing former speedster Shaun Tait as the coach, Afghanistan would have been keen to try on the coaching effects in this series but it seems like the very future of Sports is uncertain in Afghanistan at this point.
