Porsche in talks with F1 for entry

Porsche has shown interest to become a part of the F1 calling it “appealing”. Due to the existing engine rules that only permit the usage of V6 hybrid turbo engines, which require a lot of money and are also sophisticated in terms of their construction. This is the reason why Volkswagen Group which owns Audi and Porsche has been reluctant to enter F1. With F1 relaxing rules and cost cap in 2026, more manufacturing companies can be in play for entry.

Thomas Luadenbach, Vice President of Motorspors, Porsche
It's not a secret that we are thinking about F1. It's not a secret we are talking to the FIA and it's not a secret that we are seriously considering it. It's not a secret that we are thinking about [F1]. It's not a secret we are talking to the FIA and it's not a secret that we are seriously considering it.
