The England-India series is now seeing a plethora of injuries as Stuart Broad and Shardul Thakur have been ruled out of the second test due to begin on 12th of August. Meanwhile James Anderson’s status is also unclear for the match. Saqib Mahmood has been called as the cover for Stuart Broad by the English team.
Saqib is yet to make his debut in Test cricket but had impressive returns in the white ball cricket earlier. Earlier, England also recalled Moeen Ali for the second test match. The first test between India and England ended up in a draw as the fifth day of the match succumbed to heavy rainfall. Anderson took four wickets in the first innings of the game and if he is not going to play then it will be a big blow for England.
