Tan Shumei clinches Paralympic Gold in wheelchair fencing

Tan Shumei guided China to a Paralympic Gold in wheelchair fencing as Ukraine’s Olena Fodeta ended up with the silver medal. This is the first time women’s sabre has been added to the list of Paralympic games so Tan effectively is the first woman to win a Paralympic Gold in the newly added affair.

China also won Gold in the Men’s sabre category B as Feng Yanke came on top against Poland’s Adrian Castro. The Chinese contingent sweeped all the Gold medals in fencing events today.
