Alcaraz to Miss Madrid Masters

Carlos Alcaraz, currently ranked third in the world and a four-time Grand Slam champion, will not compete in the Madrid Masters tournament. This was reported by Marca.

The reason for his withdrawal is an injury to his adductor muscle, which he sustained during the ATP 500 final in Barcelona against Denmark's Holger Rune. Alcaraz is expected to officially announce his decision during a press conference on Thursday.

In the opening round of the tournament, Alcaraz was set to face the winner of the match between Zizou Bergs (Belgium) and Yoshihito Nishioka (Japan).

The Madrid Masters is scheduled to take place from April 23 to May 4, and the current titleholder is Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev.
