The seventh-ranked player in the ATP rankings and 24-time Grand Slam champion, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, reportedly did not practice on the day before his semifinal match at the 2025 Australian Open, according to Marca.
Sources indicate that the 37-year-old veteran was scheduled to train on January 23, with the session set to begin at 14:00 GMT+3. However, Djokovic did not appear on the court.
This absence may be related to his currently imperfect physical condition. During his quarterfinal match at the Australian Open, where Djokovic defeated Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz (4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4), he was noticeably limping and took a medical timeout during the first set. Djokovic did not disclose details about his injury.
In the Australian Open 2025 semifinal, Djokovic will face German player Alexander Zverev, who is currently ranked second in the world. The match is scheduled to take place in Melbourne on January 24 and will begin at 06:30 GMT+3. Notably, this semifinal will mark Djokovic's landmark fiftieth Grand Slam semifinal appearance.
