An unknown man tried to open the tennis bag of world No. 1 Jannik Sinner while the Italian was signing autographs after his fourth-round US Open — 2025 match.

A security guard accompanying Sinner immediately noticed the situation and quickly moved the man’s hand away. Sinner, for his part, shook his head in disapproval.

Sinner defeated Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.

Earlier reports said Sinner might light the cauldron at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
