Nadal's Racquet Sold at Auction for Record $157 Thousand Dollars

Babolat racquet of Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal from the final of Roland Garros 2017 was sold at auction for 157.3 thousand dollars. This is reported by ESPN.

With this racket the Spanish played against the representative of Switzerland Stan Wawrinka and defeated in three sets with a score of 6:2, 6:3, 6:1.

The price of 157.3 thousand dollars was a record for sales of tennis racquets. The previous record also belonged to Nadal's racket, which he used to beat Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final of the 2022 Australian Open with a score of 2:6, 6:7 (5:7), 6:4, 6:4, 7:5.

Nadal ended his sporting career in 2024. The Spaniard holds the record for the number of French Open victories. He won 92 titles during his career, including 22 victories at Grand Slam tournaments. Nadal was also twice Olympic champion - in singles in Beijing 2008 and in doubles in Rio 2016.
